Trek Life – Los Angeles Times Feature/Pop & Hiss
September 1st, 2010
Being from the city this is a VERY big deal for me. Thank you to Jeff Weiss for the interview & Audible Treats for the wonderful job you guys are doing promoting this album.
Star Trek: A talk with rising underground rapper Trek Life
Trek Life is so L.A. He bleeds purple and gold, bumps Battlecat and name-drops the oft-forgotten Funkdoobiest in interviews. That’s as L.A. as you can get for someone whose formative years were split between the city itself and West Covina. Yet Trek…Click here to read the full interview

Thank you DMV, forreal
August 2nd, 2010
DMV I finally made it out!! After hearing touring with Oddisee for the last 4 years and touring with Diamond District last year, I was more than hyped to SEE the DMV but especially to perform out there with friends and family that I only get to see once or twice a year. Oddisee and I talked about this trip several times over the years, but decided that it would be much easier once the project was finished and all that. Done & Done.
The listening party was brilliant! I did my best on the cdj’s I swear lol. Met some great people and I appreciate the love from all y’all. Shout out to Lunchbox Theory!
The show at Black Cat was BANANAS! Got to kick it with Kev Brown, Kenn Starr, DTMD, Diamond District, and all the homies. The shows and crowd was LIVE.
I got footage and picks of the whole thing BUT, I somehow erased them this morning. #stupidass HOWEVER. I managed to keep a very important picture saved to my phone….
FREE – Oddisee -West Coast Beat-Tape hosted by Trek Life, out now!
July 22nd, 2010
If this isn’t enough to convince you that you should check for the new album “Everything Changed Nothing” I don’t know what else to tell you lol. Oddisee has put together a collection of West Coast inspired beats for free download.
The beat-tape also feat two full tracks, “Get In Touch,” feat Richard Wright, Belvi & J.Bizness and “So Supreme,” show how the blending of Oddisee’s beats back up Trek Life’s lyrical flow. Even though “Get In Touch” will not be on the full LP, it embraces the same theme as the album and is a good indication, along with “So Supreme” of the high quality of the music Trek Life and Oddisee have been making together.
You can go get that right HERE
Trek Life’s album Everything Changed Nothing produced by Oddisee drops July 27th on iTunes and Aug 10th on CD and VINYL. You can pre-order the album @ ughh.com.
FREE DOWNLOAD – DJ Tommy Blak’s Before Everything Changed mixtape hosted by @J.Bizness + Preview the NEW album on myspace.
July 20th, 2010
If you’ve ever been to a Trek Life show you know the man behind the wheels controlling the sound very well. Tommy Blak & I have been doing shows together for years now and one thing that is for certain on EVERY tour is that Tommy will raid my laptop for music when I go to sleep lol.
This is the result of a raid that ended up with him finding a folder of a few collaborations that he hadn’t heard before. He got on a missioin to start collecting dropping those songs that came out on various albums with my peers since Price I’ve Paid dropped to get people up to speed before the new album came out.
So…without further or due we present to you the Mixtape: “Before Everything Changed.” An obviously clever play on the album upcoming album titled “Everything Changed Nothing.” My partner in rhyme J.Bizness hosted the mixtape & Brian of 5AP hooked up the cover. Ya’ll you can grab the mixtape right HERE!
Speaking of the upcoming album, for those of ya’ll that want to catch a peak at the album before it drops, please head over to http:myspace.com/treklife and you can preview the WHOLE ALBUM. Please feel free to pre-order it if you like it @ http://ughh.com.
