On Saturday, April 24th at 3:22 pm Los Angeles icon DJ Hideo passed peacefully, surrounded by his family. (djhideo.com) after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.
Though I was not close to Hideo, he impacted me very heavily the few times I did get a chance to meet and speak with him. I was at the start of my career at the time and was constantly up @ the beat with Bishop Lamont. I could see very early in the process of following my dreams that you don’t come across many genuine people in this business. Hideo was one of those talented, down to earth, genuine people that you are thankful to know still exist.
Hideo was like a breathe of fresh air to converse with. Chill as a person, ill as a DJ and someone with a character I sought to maintain as I made my way in this business. He will be sorely missed by many.
His memorial services will be held May 8th @ 4pm
World Peace Ikeda Auditorium
525 Wilshire Boulevard
Santa Monica, California 90501
