    Trek Life

Despite working with some of the biggest names in rap music [Will.i.am, T.I. and Nas, just to name a few] West Coast native Trek Life is humble, down to earth and above all, relatable. Known for his aggressive delivery, straightforward lyrics and raw, thought provoking rhymes, the hip-hop artist is poised to release his second full-length album in the spring, just after taking the stage at this year’s SXSW festival. Spinner caught up with Trek to discuss everything from crazy club promoters to Janet Jackson’s pre-Rhythm Nation days and beyond.

Diamond District, Trek Life & DJ Quartermaine EuroTour: iPhone Diaries Wrap up

    March 3rd, 2010

    What up y’all,

I’m writing this final iPhone Diary on the Europe tour with Diamond District from my couch at home. Happy to be back in the 626, but thankful that I got to do another tour in Europe. 4th time! Everytime just gets better and better.

This tour was the most fun I’ve had on any tour ever. Kickin it with Diamond District & Quartermaine was like hangin out with folks I grew up with for years. Every show was dope and we appreciate y’all rockin with us.

Thank you to Karin and every promoter that booked us. Your hospitality was amazing and we hope you book us again next year.

I’ve read and heard that “rappers” shouldn’t front like they are doing it for their family, or girl or whatever. I’d like to ask y’all to get off that bullshit now. Everything I do is to show my little girl that all things are possible with determination, hard work and faith in God. The fact that I enjoy what I do makes it no less work.

So I dedicate this last footage to my daughter Sarai, my family, Diamond District, DJ Quartermaine, my sponsors (Acrylick, Store 13, Hethin), every city we stopped in, and the 626. No one does it alone, use your gifts to bless others.

You can download the song Temporary Goodbye (Peace, Peace Ya’ll) right now @ treklife.bandcamp.com

It is the first single off the upcoming EP “Rhymes Within Reason” produced by J.Bizness that drops March 19th and also the first in a series of “Digital 12″ that Trek Life will be dropping this year.

    Peace, peace y’all!!
